Midterms went home on Friday, and I hope to see all of them signed and returned by Wednesday, October 4. At this early point in the year, the majority of the grades reflected in the midterm are based on assessments that I have used to collect student data. So as you may have guessed, student grades will be more accurately reflective of ability and work as we move forward. Please keep up to date with Power School to stay current with your student's progress.
This week will see the kick off of our first team-wide project: To Bee Or Not To Bee. We will be studying the relationships we have with the pollinator populations in our region. In the end, student will have mapped our campus, learned about pollinators, created artifacts that help educate our community about these species and all they do, created films, and will have eventually (think springtime) planted a fully-functioning pollinator garden on our campus. Our work load will be a little heavy but gratifying and engaging at the same time.
